How cancel cheque looks like

A cancelled cheque looks like a standard cheque leaf with two parallel diagonal lines drawn across it and the word CANCELLED written in capital letters between them. It must remain unsigned and should not have any details like the payee's name or amount filled in. However, the cancellation marks should not obscure essential account information, including:
  • Account holder's name
  • Account number
  • IFSC and MICR codes
  • Bank name and branch address
Using blue or black ink ensures the markings are clear and prevents misuse.
