Yes, a downloaded Aadhaar (e-Aadhaar) is legally valid as proof of identity. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) officially states that e-Aadhaar, being digitally signed, has the same validity as the original printed Aadhaar card. Ministries, departments, and agencies accepting printed Aadhaar are required to accept the downloaded version as well.
