Synopsis

Mahito, a teenager, embarks on a fantastic voyage in a whole other universe, which is chronicled in The Boy and the Heron. Mahito increasingly withdraws from society after experiencing the anguish of losing his mother and having difficult interactions with his family and classmates—that is, until he encounters an odd talking heron.
