Q. How can I book my train tickets on Paytm?
A: You can login to Paytm using your Paytm account credentials, and search for the trains for your journey. Once the list of trains appear, click on the preferred train and check the seat availability for the proposed date(s). After this, you can proceed to make a booking by entering your IRCTC credentials or creating an IRCTC account if you don’t have one. You can now make the booking as per the instructions on the website using multiple payment options.
Q. How can I check my PNR status?
A: A PNR number is assigned to every ticket booked. You can check your ticket’s confirmation status on Paytm using the website or mobile app.
Q. What are the different modes of payments accepted?
A: We accept Credit Cards, Debit Cards, EMI options, Net banking, ATM Card, Paytm Wallet as well as other UPI payment options for train ticket bookings.
Q. What is the maximum number of people I can book in a single train ticket booking?
A: You can book for up to 6 persons in a single booking. For tatkal tickets, the maximum number is 4 persons per booking. Two children below 5 years are allowed per booking, but not ticketed. The details of these travellers are also to be specified while booking, though they are not mentioned in the tickets.
Q. Are children charged for train tickets?
A: Children below 5 years are exempted from tickets in Indian Railways. Children between 5 years and 12 years need to compulsorily obtain a train ticket with 50% discount to get a seat, but without berth. If you need a berth for your child (who is between 5 years and 12 years), you need to pay the full amount.
Q. Is there any concession for booking train tickets for senior citizens?
A: As per the rules set by the Indian Railways, male senior citizens of minimum 60 years and female senior citizens of minimum 58 years are granted Senior Citizen concession in the fares of all classes of Mail / Express / Rajdhani / Shatabdi / Jan-Shatabdi / Duronto group of trains. The element of concession is 40% for men and 50% for women. No concessional tickets are allowed for Garib Rath, Gatimaan, Vande Bharat, Suvidha and Humsafar Train / Quota / Class.
Q. How can I cancel my train ticket?
A: To cancel a train ticket booked from the Paytm website, you can login to your Paytm account. Locate your booking at Your Profile/Your Orders. You can now select the passenger name whose ticket is to be cancelled, and then click on ‘Cancel’. The cancellation will be confirmed online and the refund amount would be refunded to your source account.
Q. Can I cancel my train ticket after the train departure?
A: No, the e-tickets cannot be cancelled after the departure of the train. However, you can file the TDR request online, and track your request.
Q. How can I file TDR if I booked my train tickets using Paytm?
A: To file TDR, you can send an email to "email@example.com" with complete ticket details like the PNR number, passengers names and the train number.
Q. Can I get a ticket refund if I miss my train?
A:In case you miss my train, you can file TDR request by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The email is to be sent with all the ticket details including the PNR number, Train number and the name of the passenger.
