The widely acclaimed war-epic Dunkirk is the first historical film by Oscar-nominated director Christopher Nolan. It is based on the famous evacuation of the French city Dunkirk during World War II. The movie depicts the evacuation from all three perspectives of land, water and air. Nolan’s first Oscar nomination for direction, Dunkirk has received awards for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing at the 90th Academy Awards and for Best Sound at the 71st British Academy Film Awards.
