What is a Wallet & NCMC Card?

Wallet & NCMC Card is a National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). It is an inter-operable transport card conceived by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Government of India. The card will allow users to pay for their transit journeys across metros and buses all over India. It can also be used to pay for retail shopping & online transactions.

What are the benefits of using Wallet & NCMC Card?

Below are a few stated benefits of the Wallet & NCMC Card:

  • One card works across all transit use cases so users do not need to carry multiple cards
  • Common card balance can be used for all transit use cases
  • The same card can be used for all the online purchases and accepted at all merchants
Are there any annual charges for Wallet & NCMC Card?

Currently, we have waived the annual fee on this card. Hence as of now, there are no annual charges.

Is it mandatory to become a KYCed user to avail of the Wallet & NCMC Card?

Yes, at least Min KYC should be completed on your Paytm account to purchase the Wallet & NCMC Card.

Any Top-up/recharge limit for Wallet & NCMC Card?

Transit Card has a top-up limit of Rs. 2000 for both cash as well as online recharge.

What is the minimum amount to recharge the Wallet & NCMC Card?

There is no minimum amount set for recharge of the Wallet & NCMC Card and you can choose any amount you wish to recharge.

To recharge your card, kindly search ‘Transit Card’ on Paytm App and click on recharge.

I recharged my card, but it is not working at the metro/bus

After successfully recharging, you need to scan the card at the metro AVM (located near station operators) to update the balance on the card.

You can also go to the ticket operator counter in the metro stations for balance updates if the AVM machine is not available/working.

In GOA, you can top up the card at KTCL bus stations by visiting the Paytm sales team to update the balance on the card.

How do I Manage Wallet & NCMC Card on the Paytm app?

Scan the QR code printed on the back of the card or search for "Transit Card" on your Paytm App and tap on the icon. Your card balance, recent transaction, Payment settings, etc. all details will be visible there.

How to check Wallet & NCMC Card balance?

You can view your balance under the ‘Transit wallet’ in the “Passbook” section of your Paytm App.

What If my card is stolen/lost, how can I block my card?

If the card is lost or stolen, you should report the loss/theft to Paytm customer care. Upon adequate verification, Paytm will suspend the card and block all transactions from the card.

Also, please disable all payment methods from the Paytm app under ‘Card Payment Setting’ on Transit Card.

Liabilities (due to lost/stolen card), in case of offline balance available on the card, will lie with the user, and Paytm will not be responsible for any refunds.

My Wallet & NCMC Card is damaged/not working

Please reach out to Paytm customer care. They will assist you in suspending the card and will refund the applicable amount. After that, you can purchase a new Wallet & NCMC Card.
