Best known for her biographical film roles, Angela Bassett is an American actress and activist. Previously employed as a photo-researcher for magazines, Bassett’s film career involves playing some of the most celebrated real-life black women of the world in movies like What’s Love Got to do with it?, Malcom X, The Jacksons: An American Dream, The Rosa Parks Story and Notorious.
