This is around 10 kg. The item should fit in the overhead bin and not exceed the given dimensions of 55x40x20 cm. Apart from this, passengers are permitted to carry one other bag on their person like a backpack, laptop bag or a handbag.

• Checked Baggage:

Icelandair Airlines baggage policy states that the maximum Icelandair Airlines baggage size is 62 inches for checked baggage. Standard economy class passengers are permitted to carry one piece of luggage following the size standards. In Economy Class, there are different fare types and checked baggage allowance varies as per the fare. Passengers who have purchased Economy Light fare ticket has to purchase baggage as there is no free baggage allowance for this fare type. Travellers who have purchased tickets on Economy Standard and Economy Flex fares can carry one bag with a maximum weight not exceeding 23 Kg (50 lbs). In Economy Comfort fare, passengers can carry two bags with each bag not weighing more than 50 lbs (23kg). For Saga Premium and Saga Premium class fares, passengers can carry two bags with each bag less than or equal to 70 lbs (32 Kg).

Online web check-in:

Using the Icelandair Airlines web check-in facility will result in saving a lot of time and unnecessary waiting in lines. Using this facility, passengers will be able to check-in and select seats 24 hours before the departure of their flight.

Self-Service Check-in at Airport:

Before you present yourself for check-in at the airport, ensure you have of the air ticket or copy of the e-ticket and valid identification at hand. You can even complete your check-in using self-service check-in kiosks which are available at select airports like Keflavik, Amsterdam, Boston, Chicago, London, Paris etc.

Check-in at Airport counter:

You must be checked-in for your flight at least half an hour before your departure time to be safe. Please try to arrive at the airport with enough time to spare so that you can complete check-in and get through security safely. There are separate counters for Economy and Premium Class to serve the passengers to board the flight without any hassles.

Icelandair Airlines was officially born way back in 1937 as Flugfelag Akureyrar, based in the town of Akureyri, North Iceland. Initially, it operated passenger and cargo operations with just a single Waco YKS-7 floatplane. Then, this airline shifted headquarters to Reykjavik and steadily expanded and enjoyed more success.
