You’re at a shop, cafe, restaurant, or any other place that accepts Paytm UPI. You scan the QR code, but you’d rather not use the money in your bank account right away.
That’s where Paytm Postpaid comes in.
Paytm Postpaid lets you make payments using a pre-approved credit limit on Paytm UPI and pay later. It brings the convenience of credit to the way you already make mobile payments, without needing to switch to a credit card at checkout.
What is Paytm Postpaid?
Paytm Postpaid is a credit facility that lets you make eligible merchant payments through Paytm UPI and pay for them later.
Once Paytm Postpaid is set up, you can use it for payments at supported merchants by selecting Paytm Postpaid as your payment method. Your payments are then added to your Paytm Postpaid bill, which you repay according to the applicable billing terms.
Paytm Postpaid is offered in partnership with Suryoday Small Finance Bank.
How does credit on Paytm UPI work?
The idea is simple: instead of the payment being deducted from your bank account immediately, Paytm Postpaid provides you with a credit limit that you can use for eligible merchant payments.
For example, imagine you’re out for dinner and the bill comes to ₹1,800. You can scan the merchant’s QR code via the Paytm app and choose Paytm Postpaid as your payment method, instead of paying directly from your bank account.
The amount is added to your Paytm Postpaid bill, which you can repay later.
Where can you use Paytm Postpaid?
Paytm Postpaid can be used for eligible merchant payments through Paytm UPI.
You can use it across a wide range of participating merchants, including payments made by scanning supported QR codes and on supported apps.
This means the same Paytm UPI experience you’re familiar with can also give you access to credit through Paytm Postpaid.
How much credit can you get with Paytm Postpaid?
Paytm Postpaid offers a credit limit of up to ₹60,000, depending on the limit available to you.
The amount you can use is based on your available Paytm Postpaid limit. As you make payments and repay your bill, your available limit can change accordingly.
How long do you get to pay?
With Paytm Postpaid, you can get up to 45 days to repay, depending on when the payment is made and the applicable billing cycle.
The exact repayment amount and due date are shown to you in the Paytm app, so you know what needs to be paid and when.
How to set up Paytm Postpaid

Is Paytm Postpaid a credit card?
No. Paytm Postpaid and a credit card are different credit products.
A credit card is issued by a card-issuing bank and can be used through card networks at places that accept the card. Paytm Postpaid, on the other hand, is designed to work with Paytm UPI for eligible merchant payments.
So, if you already use Paytm UPI for mobile payments, Paytm Postpaid gives you another way to pay without having to carry or use a physical credit card.
What payments cannot be made using Paytm Postpaid?
Paytm Postpaid is meant for eligible merchant payments. It cannot be used for person-to-person (P2P) payments.
For example, you can use Paytm Postpaid for an eligible purchase at a merchant, but you cannot use it to send money to a friend or family member.
Why use credit on Paytm UPI?
The biggest difference is convenience.
You can use Paytm Postpaid within the Paytm UPI payment experience you already know. Whether you’re paying at a store, cafe, restaurant or another supported merchant, you can choose Paytm Postpaid when it is available as a payment option.
It can be useful when you want to make an eligible payment now and manage the payment later within your Paytm Postpaid billing cycle.
